Delivering natural gas to about 1.5 million customers
We deliver natural gas—as the second-largest natural gas utility in Canada, we provide the safe and reliable distribution of natural gas to about 1.5 million homes, businesses and industries in over 400 communities across Ontario through a network of over 70,000 km of underground pipeline.

Largest underground storage facility in Canada
We store and transport natural gas—we offer a variety of storage and transportation services to other utilities and companies at the Dawn Hub, one of North America’s most liquid natural gas trading hubs and the largest integrated underground storage facility in Canada. Strategically located in southwestern Ontario with direct access to most of North America’s major supply basins.

Home Energy Upgrades

What are the qualifying home energy upgrades?

To be eligible up to $5,000 Enbridge incentive, you must complete at least 2 of the following upgrades to your home. Plus, for a limited time, receive additional electric incentives. Your Registered Energy Advisor will also do an electric assessment to help you find additional ways to save energy and earn even greater incentives. See all the electric incentives here.

Customers who complete more than two upgrades also qualify for a $250 bonus for each additional upgrade installed—up to a maximum of $5,000.

Your certified energy advisor will walk you through all the rebates your home is eligible for and explain how to get the $250 bonus.

High-Efficiency Furnace or Boiler

Enbridge Incentive - $1,000
For replacing a
• Less than 95% AFUE natural gas, propane or oil furnace, or;
• 89% or less AFUE natural gas, propane or oil boiler,
with a
• 95% or higher AFUE condensing natural gas, propane or oil furnace, or;
• 90% or higher AFUE condensing natural gas, propane or oil boiler.

Get an additional $650 back in electrical incentives for upgrading your furnace and air conditioner.

Note: The combi system qualifies as a boiler and is eligible for the rebate that is provided by Enbridge.    

Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) Installation

For Homes heated with Natural Gas, Oil, Propane or wood

Enbridge Incentive - $500

Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP)**: ENERGY STAR® certified, with minimum efficiency rating of EER 12.5/SEER 15/HSPF 8.5.

** Maximum one ASHP rebate per home. Must be a secondary heating system; households converting to electric are not eligible for the rebate. ASHP does not count as a measure. Rebate does not count towards the $5,000 maximum. Rebate can be combined with another heating equipment.

Water heater

Enbridge Incentive - $500

• Replace water heater with 0.80 EF or higher tanked natural gas or propane water heater.
or
• Replace water heater with 0.82 EF or higher tankless natural gas or propane water heater

Note: The combo system qualifies as a water heater and is eligible for the rebate.2

Maximum one water heater rebate per home. Switching to/from electric water heater does not qualify for the rebate. Water heater rebates are not available for electrically heated homes.

Attic insulation

Enbridge Incentive - $500
Increase attic insulation to at least R50 from R12 or less
Enbridge Incentive - $250
Increase attic insulation to at least R50 from R13 to R25
Enbridge Incentive - $500
Increase cathedral/flat roof insulation by at least R14

Insulate a minimum of 20 per cent of the total ceiling area. When the roof consists of more than one type and/or sections (i.e., any combination of attic, cathedral ceiling and flat roof), rebates are pro-rated based on the total ceiling area percentages upgraded. The rebate for any combination of attic, cathedral ceiling and flat roof cannot exceed $500.

Exterior wall insulation

Enbridge Incentive - $1,750
Add at least R9 for 100% of building to achieve a minimum of R12

Add at least R3.8 for 100% of building to achieve a minimum of R12


Better insulation helps to keep heat in during the winter and out during the summer, providing more comfort and lower energy bills


Window Replacements

Enbridge Incentive - $80
For each window, door or skylight replaced with ENERGY STAR® Zone 2 or 3 qualified model.

Better windows help to prevent costly drafts and condensation. They also allow for solar gains, which heat your home, and solar shading, which helps cool your home

Requirements

  • You own a detached, semi-detached, town house or mobile home.
  • It’s heated by natural gas, oil, propane, electricity or wood.
  • It’s located in the Union Gas program area.
  • You must complete an energy assessment both before and after renovations.
  • You must complete at least two eligible renovations.
