Description

To meet Canada’s commitments under the Pan Canadian Framework on Clean Growth and Climate Change, cold climate heat pumps will play a key role. NRCan is interested in understanding the energy and economic savings potential, utility benefits, and contractor installation experience in order to address key market transformation barriers to increased uptake of cold climate heat pumps in Canada.

Scope

The project should focus on understanding residential cold climate heat pump technology performance in different climate regions of Canada, whether it is to displace and/or replace existing heating systems, or to install in new construction. Performance data sets should include, as a minimum:
