Description
The project major activities are summarized here:
- Evaluate the representativeness of CSA EXP07-19 for cold climate heat pumps.
- Increase awareness, acceptability, capacity building, and an understanding of affordability for cold climate heat pumps for utilities, installers, residential sector, in support of the Pan Canadian Framework and federal Market Transformation Roadmap.
Scope
To install and study cold climate heat pump (CCHP) technology in residential applications in two climate zones, cold-humid and very-cold. This project include 8 pilot homes across Ontario.
The collected data will be used to evaluate representativeness of CSA EXP07-19, in terms of comparing field performance data to laboratory data derived by using the EXP07 test method.
This Project will evaluate both technical performance and economic capital and operation and maintenance costs associated with cold climate heat pumps.
